WINSLOW AUTOMATION ACQUIRES RIGHTS TO SolderQuik® PRODUCT LINE FROM RAYCHEM

Raychem Corporation has agreed to license a portion of its proprietary board-level soldering technology and sell associated product lines to Winslow Automation, Inc., a Santa Clara - based manufacturer of soldering equipment and a service facility for semiconductor component repair. Terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.

The agreement covers Raychem products known as SolderQuik® BGA (Ball Grid Array) for installing solder spheres on chip packages, SolderQuik® Tape for reseating components on boards, and Chip Carrier Mounting Devices for installing leads to leadless ceramic chip carriers. Winslow Automation, an organization which currently serves the electronics industry with compatible products and services is aquiring assets related to manufacturing and marketing these products.

Winslow Automation, Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., was founded in 1986 as a semiconductor equipment manufacturer. Winslow Automation expanded in 1990 to include a service division, S•I•X S•I•G•M•A, to provide lead restoration and Group B testing services to the semiconductor industry.
